Charles A Cooper (Chairman)

Mr Cooper has extensive experience in international economics, finance and resource sectors, in both the private and public domains. He is a former U.S. former U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs and U.S. Director of the World Bank. He served on the National Security Council as Deputy Assistant to the President for International Economic Affairs at the time of the world oil crisis. After leaving the U/S/ Government in 1976 Mr Cooper worked for Exxon Corporation as Deputy Treasurer and Finance Director of Esso Europe. He has a long standing interest in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Until January 1996 he was a director of the Zeravshan Joint Venture in Tajikistan.

Roger W Turner ACSM, MSc, PEng, CEng (President & CEO)

Mr Turner is a graduate Mining Engineer from The Camborne School of Mines and has a masters degree in Economic Geology. He has over 30 years' experience in the mining industry covering both base and precious metals in open pit and underground mines. He has worked in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and BC, USA, Central America, Africa, India, Europe and the former Soviet Union. Mr Turner was formerly President and Chief Operating Officer of Nelson Gold Corporation and President and Chief Executive Officer of Nelson's subsidiary, Commonwealth & British Minerals Limited, responsible for the Zeravshan Joint Venture in Tajikistan, of which he was Chairman. Prior to that he worked for Rio Tinto and has considerable consulting experience with major mining corporations and mining financial institutions. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta and is on the governing body of the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy.

Richard VL Wilkins MA, FCA (Commercial Director)

Mr Wilkins is a Chartered Accountant. He worked for Coopers & Lybrand for five years, in both London and Egypt, and subsequently has gained considerable experience of business in Central Asia. He was a founder shareholder and Managing Director of Tajik Development Agency Limited, which was established in 1991 in co-operation with the Government of Tajikistan. Mr Wilkins has travelled extensively throughout Central Asia and is well known to the relevant authorities. He played a prominent role in negotiating and signing the Zeravshan Joint Venture in Tajikistan on behalf of Commonwealth & British Minerals ('CBM') and, until January 1996, was a director of both CBM and the Zeravshan Gold Company.

Kenneth D Taylor BEc (Chief Financial Officer)

Mr Taylor is a graduate in Economics and practised as a CPA in Australia for over ten years until 1987. He has been involved in the mining industry for over 15 years and has been active in exploration and development in the mining industries of emerging economies in West Africa and China.

Guido E Pas (Director)

Mr Pas graduated from HHS Antwerp University with a "cum laude" degree in Applied Economics. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vector XXI Finance S.A., a Geneva based funds management and investment advisory company, and manages a number of private funds as the Chief Investment Officer of Beacon Funds Group. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Eastbound Resources Limited and Mano River Resources, private natural resource companies with interests in Russia and Africa respectively. Mr Pas was Chairman of Samax Resources Ltd. and prior to that a Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank in Europe.

W Derek Bullock MSc, PEng, CEng (Director)

Mr Bullock is a mining engineer with over 35 years' experience in the engineering, design and operating of mines. He has lived and worked in many countries. Mr Bullock was, until recently, President and Chief Operating Officer of IAMGOLD (International African Mining Gold Corporation), currently developing the Sadiola gold mine in Mali in association with Anglo American Corporation. He is a director of several publicly-listed mining companies.

Anthony M Warrender, MA, FCA (Director)

Mr Warrender is a graduate of Christ Church College, Oxford and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountancy in England and Wales. He is currently President of Warrender Associates Inc., a private financial consultancy business in Virginia, USA. Prior to that, he was a Vice President Corporate Finance for J. Henry Schroder Corporation investment bankers in New York and is a Director of CoCa Mines Inc., a publicly traded company based in Denver, Colorado.

Roger Haiat (Director)

Mr Haiat is the Chief Executive Officer of Quest Mining Resources, overseeing its various holdings in mining and mining related ventures worldwide. He has 30 years' experience in the international metals trade as senior trader, department head, and CEO of major international trade houses and holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering from London University and a post-graduate diploma in Business Administration from the Manchester Business School.
